James Kershaw

After living in Toronto for eighteen years, James Kershaw has been self-employed as an artist and musician since his return to his hometown Niagara Falls in 1985. Serving the business community as a sign painter until 2000 his skills became unviable when computers took over much of the industry. He began to share his love of the piano playing favourite songs for elders in their retirement communities.
His background education in the arts at Ryerson University, George Brown College, and Niagara College assisted James in making the necessary employment transitions. It also provided a foundation for his current enrollment in the Humanities at Brock’s Honours BA degree program in Studio Art.
While at Niagara College he prepared a report based on a quantitative survey he conducted which measured the sense of creativity from a brief survey sample questionnaire. The report is available on his web site. Today James divides his time between school, volunteering his piano playing at the hospital and sketching at the mall in St. Catharines where he resides.
